∞ 68: Relaxing in a new setting [action]

[This is a kind of pampering Albert hasn't had ... well, ever. Places he had visited throughout his own world paled in comparison to the modern conveniences this hotel offers. This evening, unlike previous evenings that he spent on his balcony or chilling near the pub, Albert's in the pool.

Well, the pool or the hot tub, depending on when you might come across him. He may even be enjoying a glass of wine, which could be a bad thing if you don't know a thing or two about the effects of hot tubs and alcohol.

This is a very rare opportunity. Might as well take advantage of a few perks, right?]

[Nami has been haunting the hot tub in this hotel since she got here. She won't say anything, but she will grin at any other visitors like they're clearly in the best place ever and everyone else is stupid for missing out.]

[Mrs. Coulter is having a glass of wine, but she'll be seated on one of the chairs surrounding the pool instead of actually swimming in it.]

[Albert tilts his head as he sees Nephry, sitting on one edge of the hot tub where a low table has been set with bottled water and a bottle of wine. The glasses provided aren't made of glass, but instead some sort of high-density plastic.

It's kinda funny to think that this has been their only opportunity to relax and see each other with their hair down (figuratively speaking, of course). He nods in greeting.] Good evening.

[sorry Albert, her hair is still up, to keep it away from the water. But it's a much more casual 'up' than her usual?]

[Albert has taken a break from the pool to cross over to the hot tub where he left his glass of wine. He hasn't met Nami in person yet, but ... well. It's hard not to notice the tattoo on her shoulder.]

Impressive tattoo.

[Well, it's definitely something different! Albert swirls his wine idly as he speaks.] It's nice that this park accommodates all tastes. [And he's referring to the fact that he wouldn't spend time on most of the attractions outside of the hotel.]

Yes. ...Especially at the end of the day.

[Peony dragged her all over the park trying out rides. ...It was...how to put it nicely? Trying?]

...It's a bit more familiar for me, particularly. There is a hotel resembling this one in my home.

[It's probably best you're back for that wine, Albert. Nami's been eyeing it off. Instead, she'll give you a curious smile.]

[Albert is finishing a lap across the indoor pool. It's much nicer than swimming in a lake; in his own world, the most "controlled" pools of water are hot tubs and saunas. He climbs out of the pool to sit on the edge, brushing his wet hair out of his face.]

Is your hometown a tourism spot, then? [He's been carrying several conversations about tourism lately. He wonders how these worlds can be that peaceful.]

[well. It hasn't been all that peaceful. But business is business even in turmoil]

[Oh dear. He's just hold on to that wine and take a sip before replying.] It would be helpful if I knew what it is I'm looking at, exactly.

Is that so? What is Keterburg like?

It's in the northern regions of Auldrant, so it's quite cold and snow-covered for most of the year. The terrain around the port and the city is...inhospitable, as well.

[He looks in the direction of the voice, raising a brow faintly at the monkey before nodding in greeting to the woman.] Good evening. Lovely weather for autumn, wouldn't you say?

[There is some scarring present under the tattoo, but it's reasonably subtle and mostly covered by the design.]

And you are the governness of the region. What kind of issues do you run into with the constant threats of snow and ice?

As much a vacation as one can expect around here. [He pauses, standing up to allow the water to drip off better.] You are one of the New Feathers this cycle?

...Those kinds of issues, naturally. Heavy snowfall and even avalanches are always possible. It's the worst when we need to close the port, but safety comes before business.

And there are the monsters that thrive in the cold. We're not attacked often in the city itself, but people traveling into Keterburg from the port are taking that risk.

Was Keterburg built in the foothills, then? If avalanches are an issue, it sounds as if the city was built at the base of the mountains instead of the middle of a valley.

Traveling tourists, I presume. Unless you have other products indigenous to the area?
