∞ 99: Horoscopes [action]

[Aquarius:
- Your next shower will be interrupted by a large mildly poisonous insect.
- Your sudden sweet tooth is probably a sign of impending doom.
- Duck!
- Learn to drive, jerk!

Albert had raised a brow when he had seen the horoscope predictions. There were, of course, mentions of the horoscopes and comments over the journals that the predictions were coming true. He's understandably somewhat wary when he takes his shower that day -- especially when the prediction comes true and he finds the hand-sized insect skittering around his feet. He jumps out of the shower.

The insect jumps out with him. And makes a beeline for the crack underneath the bathroom door.

...Wonderful.

After that experience, he finds himself heading to the plaza to visit ... the bakery. Anyone seeing him around the plaza or in the bakery will discover that he is being followed around by a male mallard duck -- everywhere. Maybe it has something to do with the prediction, or the fact that Albert seems to have taken to eating a lot of pastries. Either way, he is being followed by a duck. Everywhere.

Said mallard duck is still following him as he heads down to the battle dome -- because there is no other place that he can think of where he can cure this sudden need to learn how to drive. He may just spend the entire day there, which is entirely strange for him no matter what day it is.]

[But Kogoro isn't finished yet. There's another crunch, and then the sounds of chewing.]

[But his eyes widen at that sound. He wasn't expecting that.]

He ate it?

[Albert peers over Kogoro, noting that the bug was no longer under his paw -- or anywhere at all.]

It seems so.

C-can... he do that?

[What kind of question was that?]

Whether he can or not, he did.

[Caesar frowns, kneeling beside the dog and patting him on the head.]

He looks okay.

[Maybe more than okay, judging by how happily he seems to be wagging his tail.]

It might take awhile for it to disagree with his stomach, if it disagrees at all. [He doesn't sound very enthused by the idea.] But at least that's one insect no longer on the loose.

If he gets sick, it's your fault. [He might be pouting a little. Of course, it's not all Albert's fault. He looks down at Kogoro disapprovingly.] Did you really have to eat it?

[As if in response, Kogoro sneezes on Caesar's shoes. Albert snorts, even as he starts turning to leave the hallway.] I suppose he will need to be monitored for now.

[Gross. Especially after what he just ate. He'll probably clean these later, just in case.]

Are you sure you don't want him to look for the other one, too?

[Albert pauses at the question.] You would feel comfortable with that? [Kogoro was Caesar's dog, after all.]

Why wouldn't I? [He shrugs. It's not like his dog just ate a poisonous insect or anything! But he can't stop himself from saying it anyway.] If you want him, you can have him.

...Hm. [Albert raises a brow at Caesar's shrug, but averts his attention to Kogoro.] Kogoro, there's another bug you can play with inside the house.

[The little dog's ears perk, and he trots down the hallway curiously. Albert glances at Caesar as the dog disappears around the corner.]

Don't say it like that. He might try to eat it again.

[Once Kogoro makes his way back down the hallway, Caesar stands up.]

[His eyes remain on Caesar when he answers like that.] I thought that was the point.

I'm not trying to make him sick, you know.

...Perhaps he will accidentally crush it before he can bites it in half.

I hope so. I don't want to clean up after a sick dog anymore than you do.

[Albert walks the rest of the way down the hall, looking at Kogoro sniffing around the living room.]

...We'll see how he fares.

[Caesar follows after him, too, just to see how Kogoro does for now.]

I guess he really can be helpful. When he wants to.

That is assuming he did that to be helpful; it seemed like a game to him.

I think he was just doing it to be helpful. [Another lie—he knows he was just playing around. He leans against the back of one of the chairs.] Besides, it worked, didn't it?

It did. Though I suppose question is whether or not these "mildly poisonous" insects will actually bite. The one your dog was antagonizing did not seem ready to bite him.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't get rid of them. Good intentions or not, I'd prefer not to share the house with a bunch of bugs, thanks.

[Albert makes a face.] I wasn't implying that we should. I would prefer not having to deal with the possibility of a large insect crawling on my face while I am sleeping.
