∞ 19: Declining health [action/voice]

[There's a series of weak, hollow coughs, followed by dry swallowing sounds.]

Hot... It's so hot. Nngh... The healing-- it didn't help... It still hurts.

Caesar, I need ... water.

What's happening to me?

[ooc: Advancement of the virus. Thought it would make sense if he's the first to get worse -- weakened immune system + recent injuries + fatigue = quicker succumbing to symptoms.]

[He frowns slightly at Raine's observation, his expression serious even as he's succumbing to fever. He jerks away momentarily to cough, clearly looking miserable with this sickness.]

Have you ... had any luck healing any of the others?

[Caesar just looks vaguely ill, though whether it's solely due to Albert's condition or something else is uncertain. He hovers at the end of the bed, attention divided between Albert and Raine.]

[Frowning as she finishes] Your fever is ... when did your symptoms begin, Albert?

Not as of yet, unfortunately, as the illness has come so suddenly. It would help if we had more information about it, the most we can do is attempt to prevent it from worsening.

[He settles back down again once Raine is done, his eyelids sliding half-shut.] I'm not sure. I woke up yesterday aching and coughing. I ... wasn't sick before I left, though.

The most we can do at this point is... I don't know how we will learn more about it. How many are ill?

Too many to keep accurate track of. There's probably several that haven't mentioned being ill yet, too.

[He bites back a cough, turning his head away fiercely.] I don't know if we can contain this. There's ... too many people going back and forth. We don't know how its transmitted at all.

Even with people going back and forth, it seems to strike at random... and escalates without warning.

[sighs a little, though glances over at Caesar, frowning] Are you sure you're all right?

We need to be ... careful. The people living in the community housing are the most susceptible.

[If he could glance at Caesar, he would be at the moment.] ...Caesar?

And the healers. [Caesar gives Raine a meaningful look when he says it.] There are few more subject to contamination. And they're perfect carriers, as well -- though fortunately, they only tend to encounter those already ill.

[He turns to Albert, making a face.] I'm just fine, Albert.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a simple way to contain all of this, largely due to the timeframe.

You need to just stay in bed, and make sure you're getting enough fluids, with that fever.

[Just frowns a little at Caesar, something's off about you]

[Albert chuckles, choking on a cough before answering thickly.] I've no intention of leaving this bed ... for now.

Caesar ... I didn't even think. You're sick too, aren't you?

He's not going anywhere until he's well. I can take care of anything needed. [The words may sound a little harsh, but his voice is soft, concerned. He watches Albert for a moment, and scrub a hand across his forehead before continuing.] I'm okay, Albert. Really.

You shouldn't overexert yourself either. I recommend that you start drinking fluids regularly as well.

... In an attempt at prevention, at the very least.
