Vyse. You are in charge of the Blue Rogues, correct? I would like to speak with you.

I would like to speak with anyone who has been up to the mountain barrier and experienced anything out of the ordinary. I am gathering notes on what tests have been run and what we know of the barrier itself. Any sort of information, important or innocuous, would be appreciated.

Sure! Would you like to meet in person, or is it something we can discuss through the journals?

In person would be preferable. I have renewed wariness of discussing too much on the journals.

[It doesn't take long to reach the fountain; Albert had half-expected a quick response from the air pirate, and he was prepared with the questions he wanted to ask and the information he would dispense if necessary. He sits next to the fountain, wearily rubbing at his temples as they vaguely ache.]

[part of the reason Vyse's reply was so quick is because he'd been keeping a close eye on the journal these last few days. Something was up with that Diavolo guy, that much he knows for sure. He'll have to take action soon. Still, considering Albert's history in Luceti, he's more than willing to take some time from Blue Rogue business to meet with him. In fact, Albert might even be willing to lend a hand. He arrives at the fountain, to find that the Silverberg brother is already sitting there.]

Hey, Albert.

Vyse. Good to see you.

[He straightens and scrutinizes Vyse. It's been awhile since he had seen him last; they really didn't speak often, and there hadn't been much reason to keep up the communication.]

How is your recruitment drive going? Do you already have plans for what you will do?

[Business was really what drove most of his communications.]

It's going better than expected, actually. Considering how everyone was complaining about lack of motivation, a lot of people are willing to join and take action.

[cheeky smirk goes here. He's feeling much more at home now, being able to 'captain' a band of the most randomly assorted people]

As for plans... Before we take on the Malnosso, I think we'll just start with something smaller. Diavolo is still skulking around the village, you know.

Luceti has long needed a leader willing to unify the masses; there are many who have the potential to be of great assistance, but they lack that confident center figure to gather around.

[The cheeky smirk is noted. Albert wonders if he was in fact wrong in his observation that Vyse is not too brash.]

It's hard not to notice what has been going on. I'm afraid I do not know much about Diavolo's powers, having never closely studied him, but I'm aware of the ... issue. How do you intend to deal with the problem?

[of course he's brash. But that's what has always secured his victories.]

I've seen him in person once. He probably didn't show off all his powers, but I know he has the ability to summon some sort of invisible fighter. So we need to outnumber him, and we need someone with spiritual powers who can see the second fighter.

Have you thought about recruiting anyone from his world for their assistance? It's very likely his isn't a unique trait wherever he comes from.

If it turns out there's no one willing to support you in stopping him, we will need to quickly find an alternative.

I don't think anyone from his world signed up for the Blue Rogues. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask them for advice. If I remember correctly, there's at least one guy who seems to know more about Diavolo.

Signed up or not, your Blue Rogues have an obligation to seek out resources if you know they can help you. Correct? I would ask for this person's assistance if you really wish to deal with Diavolo.

As it is, we don't have an sort of containment rooms or prisons, so there's little we can do as far as civil punishment. Is your group ready to deal with threats harshly if necessary?

[he's actually been giving this some thought, actually. He knows Diavolo is completely insane and needs to be dealt with, but even if they manage to take him out in a fight, they won't be rid of him. Not here in Luceti.]

Of course. But one of the things that bugs me is that even if we manage to kill this guy, the Malnosso will just bring him back.

His death will come with a price, and we can hope that it will be something that hampers him from making further attacks. The time while he is gone may also be spent researching how, and if, he can be contained by other means.

I suppose...

[he's not looking forward to killing Diavolo over and over until the guy has lost so much he's basically handicapped. But, really, what choice do they have at this point?]

We'll have to track him down before we can do anything.

[Albert isn't really thrilled with the prospect either, but he has suggested it to Caesar in the past. It's unfortunate they have to deal with those types among the other prisoners.]

There are only so many places a man like that can hide, especially when we're boxed in due to the barrier. If he's taken to hiding outside of the village, you can inquire with the animals if they have noticed anything unusual.

That's the best plan of action, yeah.

Why, it seems there is still some life in this village. You seem reinvigorated as a whole.

I've been there, I've touched the barrier, I've cast several spells at it. Every observation I have is my own.

The Malnosso have unfortunately hampered me with physical troubles for a few weeks. It is difficult to do much in that state.

What can you tell me about the barrier, from your observations? Of specific interest would be what kind of spells you tried and how reactions differed, if they did.

I've been there. Lenalee and I flew out during the experiment where everyone was turning into animals.

I believe Caesar mentioned that to me before. And you still ran into the barrier at varying heights, correct?

I...ah...ran into it, once.
