His death was expected. I can't help but wonder if the environment quickened or slowed his death in any way; certainly the extraction method was different, but the deterioration afterward...

He will return. He was doubtful of it, but I'm sure he will return. How they stabilize his body without the Rune is another matter.

I had told you before that I thought it peculiar that the Malnosso had not reacted. Apparently they were very aware about what had happened, but made no move to do anything about it. And its presence was not an experiment of any kind. [He's extrapolating just a bit, but with good reason; he's quite aware of how nervous Haruki currently appears.]

Yeah, which is weird, really. I mean what's up with letting some alien march on in here?

Perhaps they felt there was no need to react.

Don't see why they would think that. I mean it's an alien coming through.

You were following the alien around the entirety of its visit, correct?

Then you can confirm that the alien did not leave the vicinity of the barrier or make contact with any of the Malnosso.

Well, it did stick it's tentacles down into the tunnels at one point. It touched at the barrier which is in there. You know, John's.

Then that still limits the alien's communication with us around here. Did you ever speak to the alien? He was looking to speak to you about the symbol you created.

...I did, after he moved out of the village there. His name's C'Thun and he's apparently from a group of galactic police officers or something. they picked up the beacon and I have somehow written it in their language. My symbol, I mean.

[Albert's voice is impassive as he responds.] No one here is perfectly normal, Mr. Suzumiya. Surely you've realized as much.

[Haruki's very intelligent; of course he did. He nods but then he voices the thing he concluded from his talk with C'Thun... the thing which was made often to him:]

I surmised as much from what I had learned. The Malnosso's lack of action and the fact that it wasn't an experiment, so soon after the spirit incident in May -- it had to be something that the Malnosso are already aware of.

Considering how ... involved you were while the alien was around, evidence pointed to you.
