∞ 64: An ominous lull in a time of caution [written/action]

[written]

Quite a few abductions in the last two or three days. Perhaps the Malnosso feel confident enough about the situation that they can continue some of their research.

We must still be cautious, though. Until we know that the intruders are no longer trying to breach the barrier, everyone should continue to carry their weapons with them. We do not know if they will try to breach the barrier again from the east, so we may not have much time to prepare if they get through again.

I thank everyone who came together in such a short time. We were able to accomplish much more under the threat of danger than we were in times of peace. [He knew it would happen, but he's hoping others will catch onto that fact.]

The eastern barricade has been completed, and there has been considerable work done on extending the barricade to the north and south of the village.

I recommend that everyone who has been physically exerting themselves the last few days to get some rest. We have basic defenses in place, and injuring or exhausting ourselves now would be foolish.

[Such a hypocrite at times. He hasn't been sleeping since his initial calls for action four days ago. Not that he feels tired; this is that kind of work he was born to do.

...

Okay, so he's threatening to doze in Astrid's stable. His horse is being nice and acting as a cushion.]

[When Albert neglects to return to the house, the obvious location to look for him would be the stable. Raine just shakes her head a little when she sees him, waiting for a few moments to see if he'd notice, or if she'd have to make her presence known some other way.]

[She'll watch him do this and wait a few moments longer, before shaking her head and folding her arms as she approaches.]

... Albert.

Does that recommendation apply to yourself as well?

You're not going to get any more practice by sleeping on Astrid.

[Caesar will seize any opportunity to be obnoxious. :|b]

Oh, have you been taking care of yourself, Albert~?

[Pfft. Albert's lucky Caesar doesn't have a good reason to be wandering around the stable. He might just invite himself in~]

I'm not being obnoxious. Can't I show some concern for my dearest older brother?

Fine, but the point still stands.

Or you could take a proper nap in your bedroom.

[I'm surprised he hasn't! That could be useful. 8D;]

It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. If I don't look out for you, who will?

...and you'd think I was being an idiot anyway.

I do hope you've been wise enough to take your own advice.

[Exactly. Even if there are no benefits to snooping around there in the first place. |D]

You've shattered my heart, big brother. But just know that I'll always be concerned for you! We don't need you to get careless on us now.

[identity profile] halgitianpriest.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course. After all, it is such a wise and intelligent suggestion. I can't imagine anyone giving such advice being as foolish as, oh, as Sigmund, and working himself into an early grave without a thought for what will befall those depending on him for guidance. I certainly can't see a man of your good sense doing something so pig-headed. That would be ridiculous.
