∞ 102: A varied existence [action]

Days 1-2 (May 26-27)

[With the exception of a rude teleportation happening while he was in the shower on the first day, Albert has fortunately dodged the beginning effects of a very random experiment. He'll use that time to observe the experiment as it unfolds.]

Day 3 (May 28)

[Part of the day is unfortunately spent wearing the infamous Opera Mask, which is he well-acquainted with after last Halloween. While he can resolutely try to refrain from speaking (read: singing) with the mask on, he can't exactly stop the desire to stalk and attempt to abduct young women. …Not that he has anywhere to abduct them to.]

Day 4 (May 29)

[Another bout of normalcy. Time to go about his normal business and make sure there aren't people teleporting into the house or stables.]

Days 5-9 (May 30-June 3)



[A young boy no older than 10 can be found playing in the forest near community building 7 or up in the playground behind the school. He's restless and finding various ways to entertain himself, trying to change up what he's doing whenever his current activity bores him.

He doesn't mind his situation, or that he had to scour for clothes that would fit him before heading out. In fact, the first morning he detoured to play in the forest in an oversized shirt before getting to the clothing store.

On the 31st, he can even be found jumping in water puddles while it rains heavily. He's just … having fun. Enjoying himself.

…Speaking to him, however, may be a little startling, as he seems to have retained all of his memories of Luceti in this form.]

Day 10 (June 4)



[When he awakens on this particular day, Albert faintly thinks that his body should probably ache from running around as a child for the last few days. He also thinks he should relish in the fact he had gotten to sleep again.

After all, when one has no breath or heartbeat or need for sustenance, it's easy to forget what it's like to sleep. Such is the life of the living dead.

He can be found in or around house 42 in the morning, making note of the various things he had observed but not written down as a child, as well as reflecting on the last time they had such an varied experiment. Then it's time to wander around town to take in more of the sights.]

You try spending a few minutes with yourself. I'm sure you'll see exactly what I mean by "misbehavior." [Ugh! Everytime he starts to feel bad...!] How should I know? All you care about is having fun, right?

[chikai]

I spent most of my time by myself today. I have no idea what you're talking about. [He rocks on his heels briefly. Almost innocent.]

I'm going to go get ready to sleep. Of course.

[mydearapple]

Never have I seen a more deceiving expression. [He knows you're not stupid, Albert!] Are you actually going to get ready, or are you just going to hop into bed wearing those clothes?

[chikai]

[He puts his hands on his hips, practically indignant.]

I told you I was only wearing the right-fitting shirts outside. So I can wear these to bed, if I want.

[mydearapple]

How many of those shirts are "right-fitting," anyway? [Not many, he's sure of it! Even so, he shrugs.] It's fine. Go get ready for bed. I'll read you a bedtime story.

[chikai]

Oh really? [He laughs at the last thing Caesar said, already walking away.] Like you know any bedtime stories.

[mydearapple]

Who says I need to know any? I can just make something up. You'll probably fall asleep halfway through it, anyway.

[chikai]

[Caesar might as well have said that to an empty room, because Albert's childish restlessness leads to his walk turning into more of a scurry over to the bathroom, where he washes his face and checks on the poor clothes he'd been wearing earlier in the day.

Then it's back over to his room.

...Oh wait. He kinda messed up his room, didn't he? Including his bed.]

[mydearapple]

[...or walk away halfway through it, whatever. He should've expected that.

Caesar is in no rush to follow. He decides to check on Kogoro first, then heads through the living room and down the hall. He stops in the doorway of his brother's room, looking around at the mess.

Good job, little big brother.]

[chikai]

[Albert chews at his lower lip thoughtfully, trying to decide on his course of action. He wants to climb in bed, but his room... But bed...

Impulsiveness wins over, and the little boy runs across the length of the room, dodging his desk chair and jumping onto his bed. The clothes Caesar had deposited on the bed, along with half the sheets, fall onto the floor.

Meanwhile, Albert settles face-down on the bed, relaxing for a moment.]

[mydearapple]

[...probably should've seen that coming, too. Caesar lets out a sigh.]

You know you're going to have to clean this up sooner or later, right?

[chikai]

[Albert turns so he can look over at Caesar, squirming over to grab one of his pillows.]

Not right now.

[mydearapple]

[He frowns, though the answer isn't unexpected. He decides to invite himself into the room and sit down on the edge of his brother's bed.]

How about tomorrow?

[chikai]

[He curls up, tilting his head so he can look up at Caesar.]

What about tomorrow?

[mydearapple]

Don't play dumb.

[Caesar reaches out and starts pulling at the blankets on his brother's bed, gathering them in his lap.]

[chikai]

[Albert smiles and laughs a little, watching Caesar pick up his blankets.]

Tomorrow I might be an adult. Then I'll be irritated and willing to clean up.

[mydearapple]

So why don't you do yourself a favor and clean it up right now? Then you won't have to be irritated at all.

[chikai]

But I don't want to. That's how you approach life.

[mydearapple]

No, that's common sense. [He takes the blankets he's gathered up and holds them over his brother. ...then he drops them.] You'd be thanking yourself later if you did, you know.

[chikai]

[...

Anything Albert might have said is muffled by the blankets until he pops his head out again.]

I imagine you're not going to leave until I do clean.

[mydearapple]

[...well, that actually wasn't the plan at all, but since he mentioned it, Caesar decides to go along with that. He nods.]

Good guess. So now, I suppose it depends on how badly you want me out of your room, huh?

[chikai]

[He sticks his lower lip out, as if that will actually affect Caesar.]

Why do you want me to clean up so badly?

[mydearapple]

So that when you return to normal, you won't complain at me for not doing anything about it. [The obvious answer, but at least it's the truth!] Besides, I don't think you'd let me get away with leaving my room a mess if I were in your shoes.

[chikai]

Didn't I already absolve you of responsibility? I can't complain at you once I change back to normal.

[mydearapple]

Yes, you can. [Caesar hesitates for a moment. Before he continues, he reaches a hand over to try and ruffle his brother's hair.] Something like that's not going to stop you.
