∞ 72: Observing the white season [written/action]
[written]
I don't suppose anyone has measured just how deep the snow is now? There haven't been long enough breaks in the weather to allow the snow to melt significantly.
It had been an early worry this season that some residents may be snowed in with the very cold weather we've had. Hopefully everyone is being careful about keeping an eye out for New Feathers and returning abductees.
[action]
[Albert has been spending less time in the house lately, for a variety of reasons -- exploring the new community building next to the house, taking care of his horse with the snowing continuing to pile up, and other things exposing him to the elements.
Today, Albert is in the bar, tucked in one of the booths with his journal and some wine. Perhaps he's hoping to get another Kanakan bottle from the bartender. Or he just needs the din of noise to help him think. Or perhaps he's waiting for something to happen.
Later, he'll arrive back at his house in the dark, in the early evening.]

We -- I speak broadly and about other things that precede your coming here.
[action]
I'm sure this is a tiresome topic for you. Everybody of import must be drilling you already. And who needs that?

However, that is apparently what happens with those who die of old age -- they return to a point in their youth, but possibly with their memories intact. A cycle of life and death.
[action]
[action]
But if some of us had already been caught in this 'rebirth cycle' we've learned about, I'm sure our minds would be somewhat frayed. When I initially arrived, there were already villagers here -- lifeless, quiet, and unhelpful. Too old, too tired.
[action]
These villagers— they've since disappeared?
[action]
They were taken, yes. The Malnosso were quite angry, since they don't know who took them. [But the residents do, of course.]
[action]
You didn't eat them, did you? That would be quite the scandal, even in Harmonia.
[action]
I'm afraid Harmonia has enough scandals than for me to add cannibalism to it.
[action]
That it does. But I'm always looking to add more. You came here from 475, right?
[action]
The war had ended. [He might as well preempt that question.]

[He shifts his weight a bit in his seat.] But you can't blame me for keeping an ear out, you're a useful contact.
[action]
A contact still beneficial to your interests under very different circumstances. How often does that happen?
