∞ 78: One bed, two brothers [accidental voice / action]
[Albert's room is a neat and quiet place, and has been that way since he departed with the other draftees last week. One would expect it to stay that way.
Unfortunately, one Caesar Silverberg decided to take his decision of waiting for Albert in his home one step further, invading said bedroom. He's lazily curled up on his brother's bed. It's a much more comfortable bed after all, complete with nicer beddings than the spare sheets he would have used in the spare room. Plus it's out of the way and perfect for napping, and he'd only get woken up for meals...
He could get used to this.
The relative silence of the bedroom is broken by a clatter and thump as something falls to the floor. Caesar doesn't stir. If he did, he would have realized that it's a journal that isn't his own. It's fallen open and is recording the ensuing silence.
A moment passes.
Then there's a solid thump as something heavy falls on top of the bed. And Caesar.]
AHHHHH- What the hell—!? GET OFF OF ME!
Wh— Caesar?!
OFF. You've got bony elbo— OW!

[The voices are cut off by the sound of feet kicking against the wall, and then another loud thump as something lands on the floor—and the journal. The recording shuts off.]

...Raine, can I have this item removed now? [He holds up his forearm with the visible exsphere.]
[action]
[She'll walk over so that she can remove it carefully from him. And may be checking to see if he seems injured once she's close enough.]
[action]
I wonder what other kinds of things they'll offer in exchange for our efforts. It sure doesn't take much to please these guys.
[action]
I'm sure the scientists will say that we are indebted to them for the electricity. We'll need to keep up on demands before people become too reliant on this new technology. It will be far easier to become complacent with new luxuries to distract residents.

More information and visibility is the best we can do at this point. It's doubtful they could give us anything beneficial for us in the long run. Right now, all they've done is pad the jail cell, as it were.
[action]
[A thoughtful pause.] ... I wonder why the spirit's magic didn't work out there. Talk about your 'attachments'.
[action]
[action]
The spirits were apparently not meant to be here, and those "possessed" by them were considered abominations. Which begs the question -- if they are not supposed to be within the barrier, and they cannot be contacted outside of the barrier, how did they come to exist specifically within this area? [And why did the scientists not try to dissuade them from using their powers?]
[action]
As usual it comes down to us not having enough information.

[action]
I trust things were fairly calm here, the new technology aside?
[action]
The new technology only came in this morning and hardly has a bearing on the week. Though yes, things were rather normal here... for the most part.
[action]
It was as unexciting as ever. Nothing out of the ordinary, at least as far as this place is concerned.
[action]
I should have guessed. Good to know you two can live in close proximity, I suppose.
[action]
... Hm, but there was one thing. You were aware that Lady Svala and Edward returned, weren't you? Sigmund is back as well. Unlike the others, however, he lacks his memories of Luceti, but still wishes to lend his assistance. I recommended that he speak with you.
[action]
You presume too much, dear brother. There are no words to recount the horrors that I've put Miss Raine through over the past few days! [Except there were no horrors at all, because he kind of locked himself up in your room the whole time. Ah well, details.]
[action]
Perhaps you would like to try and recount those horrors, dear brother. Your vocabulary should be quite extensive with your impressive education.
[action]
[She waits for Caesar to recount those 'horrors'. After all, that should be interesting, to hear about what he clearly must have dreamed.]
[action]
Please. I will try no such thing. I don't care to impress anyone.
[action]
In any case, I suppose there will be some downtime on our side while the village discovers these new additions. I intend to compile my observations while we wait for more news.
[action]
Before you do any compiling, you need to get some rest, and eat something as well.
[action]
[He picks his bag up from the floor and slings it over his shoulder.] At least you kept your word.
