∞ 99: Horoscopes [action]

[Aquarius:
- Your next shower will be interrupted by a large mildly poisonous insect.
- Your sudden sweet tooth is probably a sign of impending doom.
- Duck!
- Learn to drive, jerk!

Albert had raised a brow when he had seen the horoscope predictions. There were, of course, mentions of the horoscopes and comments over the journals that the predictions were coming true. He's understandably somewhat wary when he takes his shower that day -- especially when the prediction comes true and he finds the hand-sized insect skittering around his feet. He jumps out of the shower.

The insect jumps out with him. And makes a beeline for the crack underneath the bathroom door.

...Wonderful.

After that experience, he finds himself heading to the plaza to visit ... the bakery. Anyone seeing him around the plaza or in the bakery will discover that he is being followed around by a male mallard duck -- everywhere. Maybe it has something to do with the prediction, or the fact that Albert seems to have taken to eating a lot of pastries. Either way, he is being followed by a duck. Everywhere.

Said mallard duck is still following him as he heads down to the battle dome -- because there is no other place that he can think of where he can cure this sudden need to learn how to drive. He may just spend the entire day there, which is entirely strange for him no matter what day it is.]

[Better get used to these terrible surprises, because only moments later the bathroom door is pulled open to reveal a dripping wet Albert, a towel hurriedly wrapped around his waist and soap still slicking his hair.

He looks up and down the hallway, frowning when he sees Caesar and the spilled soda.]

Where did it go?

[He looks up when he hears the bathroom door opening and stares. He continues to massage his foot and continues to stare at his brother as he responds. Ow ow ow.]

Where'd what go?

[chikaidestroyer]

That insect. Don't tell me you didn't see it. [He gestures at the spilled soda with his chin, giving Caesar an accusatory look.]

There's an insect? [He looks down at the fallen glass when his brother gestures to it, and he frowns.] I didn't see anything.

[A blatant lie, considering the scene of the crime.]

[Albert gives Caesar a withering glare, then steps back into the bathroom and shuts the door behind him.

Moments later, there's a frustrated sound reverberating from the bathroom and another large, identical insect skittering out underneath the door.]

[Caesar sighs to himself when Albert disappears back into the bathroom, and he sets his foot back down. Of course, right then, he sees yet another disturbingly large bug come from underneath the bathroom door, and his eyes widen in surprise as he moves to try and avoid this one.]

What are you doing in there, Albert?

[There's the sound of the water stopping, and then stumbling about in the bathroom, before Albert emerges again -- this time with his hair soaked, but free of soap. He again looks up and down the hallway, spotting Caesar still standing there with the spilled soda.]

Well? Did you not see that other one, too?

[When Albert comes back into sight, Caesar makes an attempt to regain his composure. The question makes him huff a little.]

I don't know what you're talking about.

[chikaidestroyer]

[The silence that follows Caesar's response is much like the earlier one. The annoyance doesn't fade from Albert's gaze as he steps out into the hallway and heads for his room.]

Clean up that mess.

[Caesar isn't quite content to just go and clean up his mess just yet. Not after what he saw out here.]

Wait a minute. Where did those things come from?

[chikaidestroyer]

[That gives Albert pause, and he frowns as he looks over his shoulder at Caesar.]

So you did see them.

I don't think I could have missed them even if I was blind.

[He says this casually as he reaches for the glass on the floor. His foot probably helped to prevent it from breaking.]

[...Why did he even bother? Albert runs a hand through his wet hair and opens his door even as he speaks.]

Then you won't mind looking for them while I get changed.

[With that, he disappears into his room and shuts the door behind him.]

Oh, no, of course not. Why would I ever mind? [Unnecessary (but perhaps not unusual) sarcasm, even after the door is shut. Instead of going right after the bugs, though, Caesar takes the glass to the kitchen first and looks for a towel to bring back with him.]

[Albert's mood isn't much better by the time he finishes changing and leaves his room. He keeps an eye on the floor as he walks into the hallway, his hair still damp.]

[Upon his return, Caesar drops the towel onto the floor and kneels down to start cleaning it up. He's a little wary, being on the floor after seeing those bugs all over the place, so he tries to do this quickly.]

[Albert stands there in the hallway for a moment, then goes into the bathroom to retrieve some of the extra towels. He shuts the bathroom door and stuffs a towel down at the bottom, then does the same with his bedroom door.

He says nothing to Caesar, continuing this procedure with the empty bedroom with the skylight.]

[Caesar doesn't linger on the floor once he's cleaned up most of his spilled soda. Any extra drops he didn't manage to get with the towel will just be cleaned up with his socks. They were already a little wet from earlier.]

Did you see where it went?

[chikaidestroyer]

No, I did not. That's why I asked you. [Albert frowns at Caesar as he walks past him with the last towel. He uses that towel on Raine's door, then looks towards the living room. ...There were too many places for those insects to hide.]

I didn't see where it went, either. [He sighs. It's not a complete lie. He didn't see where the first one ran off to, at least.] Why were those things in the bathroom?

These predictions that appears because of the experiment. You can thank them for those two. [He continues standing there for a moment, thoughtful.] They happen to be poisonous.

[He was ready to lament the fact that this was related to those weird predictions until Albert said that.]

Wh-why didn't you say that in the first place?

[He doesn't sound too impressed. Had he known, he might have felt less (or more!) inclined to lie.]

Because I would have thought that a strange insect around the house would be enough to have you purvey some honesty. But I suppose that was too much to ask for.

You don't think I'm being honest? I meant what I said. [Now he's lying about lying.] So you knew this was going to happen?

I did not think it would jump out of the shower. [Or be that large.]
