If people must wander outdoors with this hunter around, take heed that it reacts with human senses and can be easily distracted, as per Stella's discovery. And as much as it helps to trap the hunter momentarily, it doesn't pay to do it just to die in the process. Martyrdom is a ridiculous notion.

That said, I wonder what kind of data the Malnosso gather from watching us die?

That could very well be the case. There are other theories, though... They could be testing how well we survive against such a threat, or demoralize us by taking away our wings. Also, as you said, they could be trying to strain our stress levels. Leaving the bodies of dead loved ones behind, only to take them away... It's enough to make anyone lose their mind. Even I'm feeling the emotional pressure behind this.

Ah, that... It was a combination of my own power and Filial magic, the latter which I recently discovered. I kept it secret, though I know I shouldn't have... I had really only used it to relieve tense muscles when I first discovered it, but this experiment seems to have made its effects evolve a little.

Unfortunately, we are scientists relying on the actions of scientists to make our hypotheses. It's likely we won't find out what they are looking for for a long time, if ever.

I see... I suppose I am not surprised by the existence of magic among the Filials; magic in general seems greatly linked to nature in different worlds. Have you seen any others using this magic?

All we can really do is speculate. The Malnosso aren't likely to just drop the answer in our laps.

No, I haven't, though I suppose that may be because no one knows that they have the ability. I've had healing magic in my world, but I know that this particular power is different. It just... doesn't feel similar. If people knew they had the potential to use this sort of thing, I think they'd try hard to discover it, especially after this experiment.

Indeed. That would likely be too easy and boring for them.

It certainly seemed different. The healing magic in our world has a rather instantaneous effect once a spell is cast, while it appeared to drain you considerably partially mending Caesar's wound.

Magic could be a very effective resource if it is developed enough. With your own knowledge of magic, would you say it is difficult for people without magic experience to learn?

It's really not that hard. You simply have to concentrate hard.

All you have to do is close your eyes and listen for an element speaking to you... then let its voice carry to your hands. And don't worry if it doesn't work the first few times - it comes with everything you try to learn.

Ha, I'm only speaking from experience. Once upon a time in my world, half a house nearly burned to the ground thanks to a slip in magic.

It's very... different, but I'm sure you'll get used to it after a while!

Only in the first steps of learning, but that comes with everything, right? Though I do know that there are magic users in my world who use it to show power over others.
