It's taken several days, but I think I've made a little progress. If I may ask, Stella, did the spirits ... tease you? I heard a remark about having funny eyebrows. I will try to reach that state of mind again and actually try communicating.
I hadn't tested for awhile, but I can now hover the same height off the ground as I could prior to my abduction. I suppose everything is back in working order.
Nagi, I would like to talk to you about your mapmaking skills, if you are still interested in volunteering your help. If there are any who are particularly knowledgeable of plants and living off of nature, I would like to speak with you, too.
If you would like to discuss what we had talked about, now would be a good time -- before another experiment or event comes up.

Yes, they teased me, too. They said my hair was too long...
There's nothing wrong with it!But I'm glad you were able to hear them! That's the first step towards using Filial magic.

I suppose mortals' differences are fascinating in comparison to having no physical bodies.
I hypothesized that prior magic experience may help or hamper learning Filial magic, but I cannot test myself. Did you feel an affinity to Filial elements similar to the magic in your world?

...If it helps, I think your eyebrows are just fine!Ah... quite. Every time, really... They insist that I "hack it off".It's just in the way that we were fascinated or, in others' cases, mortified by our wings. They're different... and I suppose the spirits think the same of us.
It's a little different, I admit. It's the spirits themselves that are doing the magic for you... But it does help if you've had magical abilities in your world. It's hard figuring out what to do with a fireball in your hand at first.

They seem very ... human, for lack of a better term. Individual personalities and strengths.
Perhaps that's why it did not feel peculiar. That sounds similar to summoning in my world. You have broadened your skills to offensive magic?
no subject
And you're right about that... It really depends on which element you wish to wield, I think.
Ah... Recently, yes. Ever since the experiment with the hunter. I felt that we'd need offensive skills as well as defensive, and if I'm to be a teacher, I'm sure others will want to know such things as well. I'm not quite good enough to actually make a fireball, but I have in my own world.
That was the time where I dropped it and set the cabinet on fire...My fiancée has brought up a very good idea as well... to combine physical attacks with Filial magic. Some people just can't stand back and cast, right? I think it's very possible to do that, too.

Having offensive, defensive, and healing capabilities would most definitely helpful in case another dangerous experiment comes up. Between those carnivorous flowers and the hunter, I think we could see instant improvement on our chances of survival.
If Filial magic is rooted in summoning, it's possible the best that can be done would be to imbue elemental magic on weapons. But that is based on my studies, and even if that is the case, it would be very beneficial for us.
It would make us a much more formidable army.

You don't wanna know what they teased about...And yeah. ...Where?
no subject
We may talk in my room, unless you would prefer elsewhere.
no subject
Okay. You live in one of the community buildings right?
no subject
Correct. On the first floor, next to Caesar's room, if you know where that is.

Sheena, correct? Please come in; thank you for coming over so promptly.

[She goes inside, looking around once, quickly. Internally she's pretty anxious, but she doesn't really show it.]

...It was quite awhile ago that we first spoke about meeting to talk about this. I wouldn't blame you if you have forgotten, since you were recovering at the time.
You said that you may have angered the Malnosso. Can you tell me about that?
no subject
This kid...whose name I still don't know...he was talking about how maybe all of this is kinda...forced on us, I guess. Well, I don't mean forced, exactly. It was more like...how do we know any of this is what it is.
[She sighs and shakes her head] I guess I don't remember as much as I thought. Anyway...I was writing it down. Well, writing down what I thought, at least...and then they showed up.
That supports your idea, right?
no subject
But you were speaking about this in person? Or through the journals?
no subject
...But the thing that got my wing snapped was something else. ...At least, I think I remember you asking about that.
no subject
What were the circumstances that led to your wing being broken?
no subject
if there is one.] I can use the mana in my world to summon the guardian spirits of the world. I don't have that power here, but...somehow the Malnosso gave it back to me, while...while I was there.They...didn't like it when I summoned them all at once...to attack. ...I kinda...wrecked stuff. ...So I was punished.
no subject
...The fact that the Malnosso gave your power back to you, even if temporarily, open up a lot of questions. Were they able to take away your powers as quickly as you used them, or did your powers dissipate once you had left a certain area?
But I can see why they would break your wings. That is certainly a steep offense towards them.
no subject
I don't remember...what happened afterward. My wing snapped, and it hurt...and then they injected me with something. It's...it's blank after that.
[If he looks, Albert will notice her trembling slightly. She still hasn't looked back at him.]
no subject
...You don't have to speak about it. I know it's hard to think about.
no subject
...I guess...my capture could be just a coincidence, with what I said?
no subject
I suppose I'm just trying to find some justification for why they would break my wings as they did. ...Thank you, Sheena.
no subject
Didn't know they broke yours too.
no subject
I don't know. I wondered if they had done it in retaliation for Caesar trying to set up a government here, and I was looking for a pattern with your own experience. He had talked about it on the journals.
But since your experience doesn't match, I'm once again without an idea.
