∞ 25: In interest of a calendar...

Since I've just completed my project, I'd like to conduct a simple poll with the citizens of Luceti.

Would you use a calendar if one was standardized for the village?

I'm thinking of ways to distribute this list to those that showed early interested. From my research, I can say it's Monday, April 21. The most common names of weekdays and months are listed below -- those are what I used for standardizing the calendar for Luceti.

Days of the Week (7 to a week, 30/31/28 to a month, 365.25 to a year)
Sunday
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday

Months of the Year (12 to a year)
January (31 days)
February (29 days this "leap" year, 28 for next three years)
March (31 days)
April (30 days)
May (31 days)
June (30 days)
July (31 days)
August (31 days)
September (30 days)
October (30 days)
November (30 days)
December (31 days)

Seven hundred and ... wow, that's something else. Personally, I think our system was rather useful, but I imagine being aware of the dominant element of the day here is rather unnecessary, when many could just ask the spirits. If there is a dominant element. Who knows?

Aa, I figured it was something like that. It's strange, how so many come from the same place, but from such different histories -- with the exception of those who know each other from their worlds, it's like those Japans are all very different. I'm surprised situations like having two Kamuis aren't happening more often.

Perhaps you should consult with your spirit buddies. They probably have an answer for you. Barring that, I imagine the schoolteacher would have a very good idea.

Sweet runes, the thought alone gives me a headache. Though ... I could get much more done that way.

New projects are always good. I can't seem to finish any of the ones I put my mind to, it seems, no matter how I try.

It definitely depends on what this other me would be like, I admit. But, hard times call for hard measures, and if I can't trust myself, who can I trust?

H-hey now. It's not that I can't focus; you of all people should know that. And it would have been foolish to dismiss the council of other, more experienced men. Especially against such a talented foe.

I'm in no particular hurry to answer it, myself. And I'm noticing that, more and more as time goes on.

Maybe so.

I wonder, but in the end I doubt I'll come up with anything worthwhile. I hope it's not vicious, though. They haven't done one based on weather in quite some time, have they?

...speaking of weather, it's about time those seedlings of Aya's got planted.

Heh.

Well, we might expect one, eventually. Who knows for certain, though? I imagine we're due to find out in a few days, either way.

Ah, yeah, but they haven't been put into the ground, yet. Things have been a little hectic as of late with everything going on, and it's kind of hard to take care of your plants when you're dead. I'm surprised I kept as many alive as I did, honestly.

[identity profile] nowarstowin.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
We could try. How, I'm not sure, but ... Al, I don't know how to go about it. Perhaps distributing contingency plans based on the types of experiments we've dealt with before?

I'm a strategist, dammit, not a gardener! I don't know anything about plants!

[identity profile] nowarstowin.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, for all the good I imagine it would do us. Though I suppose it would be interesting to see what the Malnosso will and won't let us get away with.

I ... what? Runes, that sounds like a lot of trouble. He's the one with all the plans for it.

[identity profile] nowarstowin.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's a fantastic idea! Make sure to start with the library.

...I've had all the attention from them I ever wanted already.

Ah, but it sounds like something you're so much more knowledgeable about, big brother~

[identity profile] nowarstowin.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
And it's cathartic, to boot. Stress relief is always good.

It's not that I'm adverse to getting my hands dirty, I've just ... uh, got other things I have to attend to. Yeah.

[identity profile] nowarstowin.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
You might think otherwise had you spent some time in my position.

Don't tell me you're growing fond of my kitchen disasters?

[identity profile] nowarstowin.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Then you are by far a stronger person than I, big brother.

I'm not the only one he cooks for, Albert. You could be at least a little grateful; if it weren't for his domestic prowess, likely we'd have starved or poisoned ourselves by now.
