I would like to hold on to the idea that they underestimate what we can do with half of our powers. To the idea that this provides us with even the slightest bit more leverage than before.

Indeed. Rather shameful, for a strategist. The same could be said with the entire excursion past the barrier.

There was nothing we could have found. Something tells me the Malnosso knew that as well, accident or no accident.

And if we had not jumped at the opportunity, it's likely we would have realized that, too. There were signs that the Malnosso were still in control. They just went ignored in favor of the shadow of progress.

True. But it would have been foolish to wait and miss our window of opportunity. I don't believe the excursion was a mistake, rather a disappointment.
