∞ 40: Meetings [voice]

Locked to Professor Raine, Yuan, Yuri Lowell, Vyse, and Mark

I believe it would be to our benefit to meet as soon as possible. Tonight, if everyone has no prior plans. I would like to discuss with you a matter of organization -- before we have another Malnosso experiment upon us.

I would have waited until the festival was over, but this has been delayed long enough.

[Once they're all seated, and there have likely been beverages prepared in advance for the amount of talking that's going to be done, Raine nods a hello to Mark, and lifts her head to look at Albert]

Well? Unless we're expecting any others, don't you think it's time we began?

[Vyse is trying to contribute in the conversation. He glances over to Albert, a serious look on his face. Yes, he can be serious when he wants to]

So, what you're saying is that we bring the smaller groups together to form parts of a greater whole?

[At this point, Yuri finally looks over at Albert, instead of just leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed, simply listening. He actually looks fairly serious for once as well.]

That's something that Vyse and I already talked about. Seeing how the last experiment went, I thought it'd be best to check in on each other and figure out who was doing what, just to make sure we don't end up running around, doing the same things and making no progress.

Of course. If you need any assistance, feel free to call on me.

As of right now, we don't know what's ahead of us. However, with the festival nearing completion... it's been some time since the last experiment, so we must be on our toes. Unfortunately, it has been difficult to find a pattern so far as the experiments have been going; the Malnosso tend to be unpredictable in that regard. But we must be prepared to face them logically.

We also must keep in mind that there are people who are only concerned with their own interests when things are turned upside down -- which can make any efforts difficult.

Yeah, I'd think that'd be expected of me as the current guild leader for Brave Vesperia. Might be a good idea to get a detailed list of exactly what each of my members are capable of doing, too, now that I'm thinking about it.

I actually didn't think the festival would go on for this long. Didn't think the tournament would either, but regardless; with a lot of people wandering around with their guards down, this would be a perfect opportunity for those bastards to start something. Especially since we can never see it coming.

And yeah, of course, there's the people out there who really don't seem to give a damn about anything outside of their own little world. It's to be expected, since people like that are everywhere, but getting them to listen to us at any point in time during a crisis ... I'm thinking in a lot of cases, it'll be easier said than done. Guess we're gonna just have to do our best to make ourselves seem worth listening to.

It's hard enough to get the population's attention during a time of peace. When a crisis hits, the chaos only increases by a tenfold. The fact that we managed to organize three groups a few months ago, when the barrier disappeared, was mostly due to Albert's hard work and a reasonable amount of luck. It's something I doubt we can change. Members of Brave Vesperia and the Rogues can give the proper example, guided by their respective leaders, but aside from that we can only hope others will follow obediently.

I believe it's more important to check the composition of each group we can count on, and verify the abilities of its members. Then, compare those lists. We need to avoid accidentally giving someone two tasks, or not exploiting their strengths to the fullest.

Perhaps we should make a list of others, as well, who aren't particularly aligned with either group, but may be available to call on otherwise. That past situation presented us with some who were willing to be rallied, after all...

Getting a better idea of skills and to what use people will be willing to extend their abilities is definitely something that should be seen to. And then there are... other matters, such as projects and the like, when we aren't dealing with the experiments. How we use the time in between them... it hardly seems as if we've been using that to our advantage at all.

If--- I may interject. [He coughs here, feeling it's speaking out of turn but even so--] I have plans for, and have been trying to recruit people to construct, a barracks. While I would prefer a church as such a place, if we were to complete my plans we would have a large structure able to fit many people for the purposes of training, evacuation, or even a meeting, depending on the need.

Hmm...

Something like that would take a lot of time and effort to arrange, though I do recall people wanting a training center as well. What if we simply renovated one of the community buildings to our purposes? It might be easier that way, and I'm certain not all of them are filled quite to capacity... at least, until a proper facility can be built later on.

Still, the more things we can get organized now, the better. We need to discuss things, yes, but we also need to -- well. Make progress, honestly, which is something that seems to evade us for various reasons.
