∞ 43: Reunion [voice]

This has been a rather boring passage of time. I can see why the others were eager to move on from this fort; there's not much here at all.

Noishe has been quiet since I began running a few experiments; he must not have--

...Oh. Is that your group out there, Vyse? Welcome ba--

... ...

I think Noishe is running out to greet your group.

I thought it'd be underground or something.

Granted, with the appearance of one tunnel, the chances of another underground passage are greater. But a machine can't properly function in a closed off space like that. At least, not without constant maintenance.

Well, then wouldn't it make more sense that the machine's outside the barrier? So the Malnosso can get at it and we can't?

Very unlikely. In order to project a dome-shaped barrier, the source needs to be at the center. Either that, or several smaller machines are aligned all around it. I've seen no proof of that, so far.

[absentmindedly running a hand through his hair.]

Of course, there are hundreds of other theories, each as unlikely as the next. But we can't rule out the possibility of any one of them without more knowledge about the barrier itself.

Something's making it, though.

It might not even be a machine. It could be created by an object similar to the Eternal Sword, or even some sort of spiritual being.

...I guess the Eternal Sword wouldn't be much help here either, huh? I can't really hear Origin, even out here.

The Eternal Sword can alter time and space, yes. But I believe that only counts for our universe, as it's being watched over by the Summon Spirits. Origin has no influence over this world.

But Sheena can still bring the summon spirits here somehow...

Summoning them here with the aid of a pact isn't the same as having them alter the rules of a universe they're not familiar with.
