∞ 49: After the mission [action]

Turn down a few torches. We'll rest here for now.

[Albert's voice echoes as he calls out to the rest of the group to stop. It's been a steady walk away from the warehouse even though they had been told by their Malnosso co-conspirators to leave the tunnels quickly. Extinguishing several torches, as they had been every time they rested, would help keep the amount of smoke down.

He takes out one of the sunstones that Sigmund had brought along, activating it and taking a seat against one wall. He then pulls out a notebook and begins writing, keeping an eye on the others moving around in the semidarkness.

Really, the silence following their success was rather unsettling.]

[Albert looks at Sheena. He's not getting up to talk, so she'll have to come on over.]

[Kratos sits in the back of the group with his back against the wall, keeping watch for any suspicious activity.]

[Thankfully, they've had little trouble thus far. But it makes sense to watch their backs, especially after leaving those warehouse drones. It felt strange to leave them standing, but they would shift all of the crates back into place for them, which worked in their favor.

Kratos would warn them if anything happened.]

[It's way too quiet, so he's gonna whistle to himself while leaning against a wall.] That was one hell of a party, huh?

[Albert glances at the white-haired man. It's obvious he's speaking for the sake of conversation.]

Not really. I'm sure you'll see worse later on.

[Blues was nowhere near being forced to stop, but he is starting to feel the effects of the tunnel. His energy drains faster down here, and it's an uncomfortable sensation... especially since it also seems to heighten the issue he keeps most under wraps. None of that shows, though; he leans coolly against the wall, still wearing his shades despite the very dim light. He's not convinced the Malnosso are going to leave their return trip alone.]

[Taking a look at Blues' dark shades, Albert finds himself asking a question -- discreetly, of course.]

[Sigmund is quietly resting against the wall, though he's still keeping an eye out for danger. Everything was a success, but his thoughts were back home. There had been no word of trouble in the village, but Sigmund couldn't help but be concerned about his family.

He knew it was pointless to worry - the only way to get back was to slog through the journey back. The silence was only giving him more time to think.]

[So many brooding fellows. Albert realizes as much as he notices the others lining up against the wall. He regards a page of his notes before speaking.]

We are approaching another experiment day. Within the week.

[Now that everything had quieted down and it was time to rest, Yuri joins the Leaning-Against-The-Wall crew by choosing his own spot of wall and ... well, leaning against it. He actually had a lot of fun keeping the droids at bay, and was almost saddened when it was time to leave. Having his blastia work would've made that experience even more enjoyable, but beggars can't be choosers.

However, as relaxed as he looks, Yuri knows that something else can possibly come up, so he's keeping an eye out for anything weird. That doesn't mean that he'll brush aside anyone who comes by for conversation and the like.]

[Albert knows that he has chosen a good group when half of them remain on guard while they rest. He looks at Yuri as he leans against the wall.]

Your first report on the warehouse was a little lacking.

We've been making good time so far.

Slower than our way in, but not by much. We should split up from the others in a few more hours' walk to begin inventory.

*Ken had been sitting against a different wall, not really talking to anyone and seeming generally gloomy. However, one of many things that had been eating at him was enough that he had to mention it, standing up and walking to where Albert was sitting.* I'm sorry.

[looks over at Ken out of the corner of his eye, since he happened to be standing above Albert] Kid, what do you have to be sorry for?

[Albert looks at the somewhat-morose boy, analyzing his expression dispassionately.] You understand why I did not want you along. Your inability to follow orders doesn't help my opinion of you.
