∞ 49: After the mission [action]

Turn down a few torches. We'll rest here for now.

[Albert's voice echoes as he calls out to the rest of the group to stop. It's been a steady walk away from the warehouse even though they had been told by their Malnosso co-conspirators to leave the tunnels quickly. Extinguishing several torches, as they had been every time they rested, would help keep the amount of smoke down.

He takes out one of the sunstones that Sigmund had brought along, activating it and taking a seat against one wall. He then pulls out a notebook and begins writing, keeping an eye on the others moving around in the semidarkness.

Really, the silence following their success was rather unsettling.]

Well... That was certainly an interesting excursion.

D'you have plans for the electricity now that we've got it?

Who could say? There are a number of uses for that electricity, really.

I suppose we'd need technology that could successfully utilize the electricity first, wouldn't we?

Some people probably have it already. Or could make it.

I wouldn't doubt that. Surely, someone here must have the ability to work with machinery.

Raine kinda does. The exploding kind, anyway.

I'm surprised that the operation had gone as smoothly as it did.

That is, of course...

...Assuming that they hadn't secretly wanted us to undertake this mission.

I suppose all we can do for now is bide our time and gather information until they make their next move.

The pace certainly has picked up, though, hasn't it?
trueknight: (Funny thing about that ...)

That's a good word for it.

I'm certain you could think of quite a few good words for it.

'Interesting' sums it up well enough.

Really, now. I haven't had such excitement in years.

You must've been leading a pretty boring life up until now.

[identity profile] necromance-this.livejournal.com 2009-02-12 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes. Leading a military to victory, assisting as a representative for my country in the formation of a peace treaty, being part of a group on a quest to ultimately save the world... It was a very humdrum life.

Why don't you tell me about your amazing life, then? Everyone has a story to share.

There isn't much to say. Between chasing down a blastia thief and saving a princess, not a lot happened. I've still got some unfinished business back home, but there isn't much to say about that either. [More like he doesn't feel like summarizing 2/3s of Tales of Vesperia explaining it all.]

That actually sounds quite exciting. And as you've said, your tale isn't yet finished.

I'm afraid this old soldier's time is done.
trueknight: (Funny thing about that ...)

It was different, I'll say that much.

I'm sure there's some kind of use for you somewhere, old man.
