Status reports, everyone. Let's try to account for as many as we can.

If you know of any casualties or disappearances, please note them as well. They need to be kept track of in case the Malnosso decided to act while we were ... preoccupied.

Congratulations are in order. We've survived without losing the village. Now it's time to recover and aid the wounded.

If there are still any able bodies available, I would like a sweep of the perimeter done for any signs of the intruders. Feathers, clothing, armor -- if it's available, it must be studied.

...Please also be aware that the New Feather cycle, if it has returned to normal, will occur beginning tomorrow. Explain the situation to the best of your ability. Newcomers need to know that this isn't the usual state of the village.

At the very least it shows that most can work together under threat of crisis. The problem now is keeping the awareness up, before everyone becomes too distracted by parties.

It will happen regardless of what we do. Communicating with the masses effectively and figuring out how to continue doing so is the best way to maintain control of the situation.

Do you intend to call for another meeting, or let some time pass before then?

[She tentatively steps away from the tree, indicating that she's ready to begin ... walking.]

Let them catch their breath, recover from their wounds. [He gives Raine a pointed look before he moves to help her.]

[She indicates the side of the injury, and shifts her body accordingly when he comes to help.] ...Of course. I wasn't suggesting that one be called immediately.

Weren't you? [He frowns and wraps an arm around her shoulders.]

In a general sense, I suppose. Perhaps within a week, or whenever we've consolidated most of the facts...? [She bites her lip, trying to keep the weight off of her left foot.]

And will you be recovered in a week? And have consolidated most of the facts? [He provides continuous support on the way back to the house.] We are not in a rush. The world isn't going to end in the next New Feather cycle. Not if this conflict has waged for centuries.

... True enough. It's just easy to feel on edge, I suppose. That we could lose something by waiting.

Those who can give us answers are not going to die anytime soon; they make themselves unavailable, and likely have many measures in place to protect themselves. The only things we can lose are hope and people, and we know the latter is quite temporary now.

The waiting game.

Waiting, regrouping, continuing as planned with other... projects. Feels a little anti-climatic after a large-scale battle. [A halfhearted attempt at a joke.]

Battles have their political fallout. We will see how the populations complains once they have recovered enough to be restless. [He doesn't see it as anti-climatic at all. But he sees a natural flow to humanity's actions in general, so his perspective is ... different.]

... Yes, of course. [She'd likely see his viewpoint better if she were looking at it from her historian eyes rather than a current participant in the effort. She's supposed to be the rational one, not impatient. She limps along, relying more on him as the walk progresses.] Knowing some of them, it won't take long.

[The house is in sight now.] Presuming. Few of the current residents have seen a battle here in Luceti. It raises more questions than anything. And the New Feathers will need to be talked to.

I wonder how much of this matter could be readdressed in the guide itself; a warning for what we know is out there, in light of these changes.

In the end, I suppose it still does little for those who would still wish to attack the barrier in an attempt to escape -- [She winces, and stops speaking abruptly, as pressure is accidentally applied to the injured foot] ... ah.

Considering how obvious it was to everyone within and without the barrier, I would say most of it could be captured in a public repository ... though it really isn't a topic that can be considered 'New Feather guide'-related. Perhaps an archive, but not in the guide.

[He looks at Raine dispassionately as she stops speaking.] Are you all right?

I'm -- fine. My foot slipped.

An archive... hm. It's not as if we don't have the materials available for that form of project.

Hn. [He's not going to discuss it further, because he knows she will get far too invested in the idea without taking care of herself. So he'll focus on helping her to the house.]

[She's a little disappointed when he lets the conversation fall to silence; she supposes the idea will have to be revisited at another time. The talking was distracting her from the pain; the misstep brought full awareness back. At least they're almost there; the front door coming closer and closer.]

[He opens the door and sees Raine in. After a glance around the house, he leads Raine towards her room.]

[It's not very far to go. She's scanning the house herself for signs of Genis; he's likely sleeping. Might not have even made it into bed. At least her room is the closest one, so they reach it without incident.]

[Albert glances at Raine as he helps her into her room. He wonders when he had last done something like this.]

[Helped her into her room? Probably not too long ago, if he thinks about it. At least he hasn't broken out with the dirty looks, yet. ... Lets not think too hard about that. Time to run a mental checklist of things she might need...]

[That would explain the deja vu. He seems to get that quite often with how often Raine gets hurt or exhausted. Geez, Raine. He helps her to her bed before straightening.]

... I will. [But she's all dirty and battleworn and damn it it's even worse asking for more help when he's already brought her all the way here. She starts to take off one of her boots. The other one is still too tight.] Ah... could you bring me a washcloth and a small basin?
