Welcome to all the New Feathers of this cycle. I am sure that residents, especially the volunteers working in the Welcome Center, have been helpful as you adjust to your surroundings.

Some may have noticed that there are stations some distance away from the village -- watch stations where New Feathers may find clothing or shelter. Residents may also use them as stopping points as they explore the surrounding forests and plains. They are maintained by a group of volunteers, which has been without a head organizer for a few months now. If anyone is interested in taking on this responsibility, please speak with me, Albert Silverberg.

Recent additions to the enclosure are the expansive farmlands to the northeast of the village. There are numbers of farm animals and growing crops up there that are in need of caretaking. While the village has the grocery store for easy access to food, I am sure some would relish opportunity to work with crops and animals.

If there are any questions about these subjects, they may be asked here. Thank you.

[Around noon, Albert may be found in the clothing store, looking for clothing for warmer weather. Maybe he'll attempt to tan this year. It's been awhile.

Later in the day, he will be in the stables tending to his horse. He will be out there for several hours before retiring for the evening to the house, reading a "Computers for Seniors for Dummies" book. Very funny, Bil.]

The same as you actually, trying to find lighter attire for this terrible heat. [He sighs.] It reminds me of when I was traveling about in Majorca and how I had to buy new wardrobes to accommodate the weather.

Majorca? [Ah, a reference to the man's world.] A different climate from your own residence?

[He realizes what Albert means and explains.] Yes, to be precise an island off the coast of Spain.

I suppose it would help if I had asked about the climate you are used to.

Well if you wish to know, living in Paris I was use to all kinds of weather. However, nothing was ever too cold or too hot.

Very mild weather then. I can see why island weather would be quite a change. [He shakes his head, putting away the shirt he had been looking at.] Did you travel often, before arriving in Luceti?

I did travel to a few different countries, but not often. [He looks at him.] Could I ask the same in regards to you?

[He nods in confirmation.] A similar situation as your own; I have traveled to a few places, but not often. I have spent the majority of my life in two cities.

[He wonders for a moment if this should be brought up or not, but decides to say it.] If I may...change the subject for a moment. I wish to talk with you about something a little more serious than the weather.

[A slight tilt of the head, but his expression is as calm as ever.] Of course.

[He looks at him with a serious expression.] I wish to know everything you know of the Malnosso and the people who affiliate with them or are their enemies.

That is quite a broad request to make, Mr. Chopin. Especially with a great deal of that information already available.

I have been reading your broadcasts, but I still feel in the dark about much.

Understandably so -- there is only so much that can be conveyed through reports. If you have specific questions, I can try to answer them. However, the majority of the information, especially concerning the Organization's enemies, is currently as documented as it can be; there are still many things we do not know.

I wish to know why the Malnosso need these drafts, what purpose do they serve other than to fight the Third Party. And what exactly goes on during the drafts, since the Malnosso have yet to see I'm fit enough for one of their drafts.

[There is something of a pause as Albert considers the requests.] I can certainly attempt to answer your first request. ...But you have not had any acquaintances out there who could tell you about the drafts?

[Frederic lifts up a shirt he was looking at then turns towards Albert.] I talked to Professor Sage about the last draft you went to and I'm familiar with them on the surface, but I wish to know more.

[His expression is neutral as Frederic speaks, and he doesn't motion in acknowledgment or any such thing as he responds.] The Organization drafts people from this enclosure to guard their interests, protecting the other enclosures in which people live. We have proven to be their most efficient means to fight the Third Party, which is why we are out there fighting.

[He ponders on this then looks at him more.] I see. But what exactly happens during these drafts?

Pertaining to our departure, or while we are there? [It's a very vague question that Frederic is asking.] On the day we are to report in, the draftees head into the tunnels and enter a transporter that takes us into an inescapable hallway. We rest for a day before we are transported to the battlefield, and return to that hallway when we are exhausted, dangerously injured, or every 24 hours.

That's part of what I was curious of. [He likes being vague and cryptic, it's what he does.] But yes, I wish to know what exactly to see and do while you're there.

"See or do." [He examines another shirt as he speaks.] Depending on the numbers of draftees and the noncombatants, one would be placed in a defensive capacity or offensive.

[He takes note of this.] I'm assuming you see members of the Third Party and other things when you are on these drafts, have you seen anyone of the Organization?

During the draft in the underwater research facility, one of the objectives was to lead survivors to an escape transporter. Those survivors included Organization employees and their families. Otherwise, no, we do not see anyone from the Malnosso Organization during the drafts.

...I see. [He takes all of this into consideration.] What about previous drafts before the one you mentioned? Shall I get the same answer of no?
