As a follow-up reminder to Rydia's latest entry, this month is likely to be another New Feather cycle month if the new Organization management continues the trend. The Welcome Center is always looking for volunteers when New Feathers arrive.

While the weather may be warmer, there are still watch stations outside the village that should be maintained and well-stocked. Any volunteers are welcome. For now, I am organizing the effort, but I am looking for someone to take over that responsibility.

[There is a slight pause.] Is anyone working on the farmlands outside the village? I am curious to know what crops are being grown out there.

[Albert isn't up to anything special today. He's finally getting around to taking care of and sharpening that sword he had asked Sokka for during that reality-shifting experiment. He can be found working on the steps of his house, looking the sword this way and that as he works on it; it's more work than he usually has to put into sharpening an axe.

Afterwards, he'll make his usual rounds of tending to his garden and checking on the stables. ...Which will lead to a trip to the grocery store, because the horses need more grains.]

Oh, you have those too?

[ She takes a few steps closer to the garden and searches for the alleged moonflowers. If it's anything that gets her excited, it's flowers. ]

I do. [He points out the closed buds on the trellises.] Blue morning glories by day, white moonflowers by night. Some late afternoons, a few of each can be seen open at the same time.

[ Following his gesture, she spots the closed buds. ]

That must be a sight to see. It's too bad it's only the morning. I would have loved to have the chance to see both of the flowers open.

[ She pauses before something comes to mind. ]

Oh, that reminds me! Do you know the story behind the morning glory?

If you happen by this area of the village in the late afternoons, you may see them. They are quite visible from the road. [It's as much of an invitation to look as he can give.

He does pause at the question, though.] A story behind the flower? No, I'm not familiar with it.

[ She smiles at the invitation. ]

Thank you! I'll be sure to stop by again in the afternoon.

Well, the morning glory is supposed to symbolize the single day each year that these two lovers are allowed to meet. According to legend, when the lovers met, they began to neglect their duties. The gods were angered by this and forced to separate the lovers and allow them to meet only once every year.

[He raises a brow at the story, listening attentively.] So the one day they met was when a morning glory bloomed?

[ She nodded. ]

Yep, pretty much! When I first heard the story, I was in tears. I always felt so sad for the lovers.

It sounds similar to another story I had heard of here in Luceti, of a princess who fell in love but was forbidden from seeing her lover because she and her lover were also neglecting their duties. Perhaps the stories have the same origin.

Maybe. There are plenty of stories out there that have been changed over the years.

[ Such as the story of Mithos the Hero and the goddess Martel. ]

Though it's a wonder how two similar stories can originate from two different worlds. Is it just coincidence?

I do wonder about that. There are worlds out there that are so similar to each other except for certain happenings, and others where they are incredibly different but share the same literature. For example, there is a romantic tragedy written in my world, by a William Shakespeare, that also exists in many different versions of the world called Earth. But there are scant other similarities.

Rather strange how the universe works. Perhaps that's its way of trying to perfect itself.

[ She covers her mouth in embarrassment when realizes that she didn't even know his name for the entire conversation. ]

Oh! I'm Martel Yggdrasil. I didn't even realize that I forgot to introduce myself. I'm sorry that was rude of me!

It's quite all right. I could have answered earlier as well. Have you been here long, Martel?

About four months. Though some people have told me that this isn't my first time in Luceti. They say that I've left a few times, but I can't seem to recollect being here.

I see. That is a shame to hear. [He looks thoughtful.] I do recall meeting a Martel who worked in the Welcome Center quite awhile ago, but our interaction was minimal at best. [And he doesn't know as much about Raine's world and legends and situations as he probably could know, seeing as he does not make a habit of digging into others' pasts.]

[ Her eyes widen. It seems that she just keeps meeting past acquaintances. ]

Really? Did this Martel look like me?

I suppose she did. But as I said, I had little interaction with her. [He coughs politely.] I believe we have spoken more today than I ever spoke to the Martel of the past.

[ She softly giggles. ]

Is that so? Then if I truly am that Martel, I regret not speaking to you sooner. You make a great conversation.

[He manages something resembling a smirk.] It's not often someone stops by to admire the flowers. There are other places to go to see flowers, after all.

[ Her mind goes back to the garden she made with Leo and Elliot. ]

There is. But I don't think any of those gardens have moon flowers or morning glories.

Then I am pleased that you were able to see them here in my garden. They have been here for awhile now.

I'm pleased to have seen them as well; you really took care of them. They're not a common sight at my world.

[He nods slowly. There seemed to be similar flowers shared between worlds, so this did not come as a surprise.] I take it you had your own gardens in your world?

I used to, but I had to leave it behind when my brother and I had to leave the village.

[ It's definitely long gone at this point. ]

I see. You began to travel together? [He knows nothing of the four Seraphim and their ... very long history.]

[ She nods with a somewhat regretful smile. ]

Yes. It was . . . difficult, but we managed in the end.

[ Well, their travels didn't exactly end well. Though she'll just keep that little detail to herself. ]
