∞ 04: Preening

As much as I dislike these new appendages, they provide something to do in between reading books and furnishing my room. Though I feel even more bird-like picking at my wings to keep them presentable. Hmph.

At least those annoying flowers are no longer invading ... everything.

I'd have imagined Luc would have spoken to you of it-- on the other hand, he was probably too busy for idle. Mystical nonsense, sure, but I'll buy it this time. I've talked to too many otherwise sound-minded individuals to discount it as pure fantasy. Believe as you will, though.

Perhaps they'll incorporate it into one of their lovely "plagues". With everything else they're capable of, I'm sure it's within their power.

...you don't think it'll do any good, do you?

As far as I know, you were. Apparently it had the historians in a tizzy.

Ah, I don't intend on getting myself killed anytime soon -- though, from precedent I can only assume I'd probably just come back to life anyway.

Well, I'll do what I can, regardless.

Not all historians, no. But historians often write history to favor the people paying them, so who is to say for certain?

As could they dispose of any of us, at any time, rebellious or not. To die fighting rather than live in chains is a popular sentiment of many a warrior, is it not? And who knows? Perhaps to be disposed of here is to return home and continue as if nothing ever happened.

Well, it's worked out so far, hasn't it?
