∞ 18: Second return [voice/action] | record unhackable after the fact
[A weak groan, followed by ragged coughs. There's the scraping of shoes and clothing against gravel, followed by another ragged cough.]
I-- it can't... Still dark...
[ooc: He's baaaack.]
I-- it can't... Still dark...
[ooc: He's baaaack.]

[action]
[He grasps the journal he barely found in the clearing, his expression vague.] I think so. I lost track of time. I could sense day or night.
[action]
[Another relatively stricken expression that he's glad Albert can't see.] We can figure that out later. For now, we should probably get you home.
[action]
Yes... Help me up. I hurt my foot when I ran into a rock.
Sheena... She-- she was still on the trail.
[action]
[He stands, instinctively dusting off his knees before crouching beside Albert.] All right. Why don't we give it a minute. If it's bad, I don't want to hurt you any more than necessary with inadequate support.
[action]
Damn it, I hate this feeling.
[action]
[action]
[It's probably not obvious with his coat and scarf on (and not to mention in the forest's darkness), but he's sweating as he struggles to his feet once more.]
If I trip, don't try to catch me.
[action]
Can I at least warn you about obstacles?
[action]
Now lead the way.
[action]
Looks like she finally found us.
[action]
[Looking at Albert, then at Caesar with a questioning expression]
[action]
[He doesn't look surprised; more like weary.]
[action]
Have you got anything in that magic arsenal of yours for pain?
[action]
[action]
[Almost without thinking, he tries to stand and walk under his power, only to quickly remember just how helpless he is at the moment; he barely catches himself, kneeling on the ground.]
[action]
[The gaze he turns to Sheena is openly pleading.]
Whatever you can do is better than where we're at, right now. We've got a long way to go.
[action]
What can I do, Albert?
[action]
[He's trying to concentrate as best as he can, even with his inability to visually focus on something.]
I need to... I need to be able to walk. I twisted my ankle; everything else-- they can be dealt with later. Walking first.
[action]
[action]
[She reaches for his ankle (we'll pretend he indicated which one 'k?) but stops for a second.]
I've gotta touch it. Didn't want to surprise you. [Her fingers rest on it gently, and after a minute or two there's a warm light coming from them. After about five minutes of that, though, she's exhausted.]
[action]
[He sits still while he feels Sheena's hand on his ankle, holding himself up with Caesar's help. He can physically feel the effect of the healing magic, the pain in his leg mildly alleviated.]
Don't tire yourself out, Sheena. You need to get back, too.
[action]
[Caesar flips through his journal with his free hand, making a quiet, frustrated noise.]
We've been a bit more fortunate than the other group, it seems. They haven't found the girl who disappeared, yet.
[action]
...We should get back. Norma disappearing makes me uneasy.
[action]
Others have disappeared, too?
