Based on the cycles of ancient Terra Primaire. The Commonwealth standardized it to make the Empire feel special.

[This next part takes a while, but this is Ceasar's brother, and Ceasar is almost a companion to her, so she adds it. Albert probably won't realize what the admission is to her] To my people, a "day" was the time it took the voidworld to orbit it's suns -- 285 standard days. The planet spun at the same speed that it revolved, so "day" and "year" are the same. To clarify time, we used "cycles," which are about forty-five standard years.
I suppose that doesn't help though.

Your system seems much more complexed since things span out beyond one planet. It doesn't much help coming up with something here, but it provides a huge contrast to others' norm. What was the average lifespan of someone in your world?

You never told me you were a professor, Miss Raine.

I didn't? I suppose that may have been the timing... but yes, I am.

It's always pleasing to meet or know others with an academic background. Do you research, or primarily teach?

Ah, I... I'm feeling a little better. [contemplating telling him...]

That's good to hear. Perhaps it's a spring ailment, if you're the only one showing symptoms.
[ooc: I'm curious what their baby will be like. :o Male, female, pure Filial, Orerines/Ferines/Filial... I can't wait to find out.]

Yep! Sunday through Saturday, 365 days a year (not counting the leap year which gives us an extra day in February!), 12 months. All that junk!
