∞ 39: Assessment [written]

My coat has been returned. It is no worse than it was before. Good.

Sephiroth is gone. Caesar would be frustrated, were he here.

A layered experiment, built upon over the days until it engulfs the entire village. I'm sure that residents will note that we haven't had something quite that elaborate in the past. The Malnosso were kind enough to reset buildings that were demolished or burned to the ground, as well as return those who were vampirized or killed.

Despite having a very effective form of communication linking every Filial here, we allowed the situation to devolve into an utter mess. It became a primal matter of survival, and instead of acting in groups, many acted alone -- and became victims (see Cloud Strife's entry and list).

I would like to ask everyone... Are you satisfied with how disorganized we are when faced with a crisis?

We have had protests against and calls for leadership in Luceti in the past. I am reopening the discussion in lieu of those who previously began them, since they are now missing from Luceti.

Your ideas. Your leaders. Let me hear of them. We have previously discussed a council to provide a form of structure, of government, who people can turn to. Some would rather have a single elected leader. Some have no interest in an established government at all.

To the latter, I once again direct your attention to Cloud Strife's entry. Those were only those who were bitten and turned. Think of those who were killed in the last experiment, or lost what the Malnosso will not replace.

Let me hear from you, Luceti.

I really did come after something huge. A structured and orderly government or council would be a smart thing to establish. I'm surprised no one here has accomplished it yet, but it is hard to set up something like that with so many conflicting views from different worlds. Still, I think this would be the best course of action, to possibly speed up the process of finding a true escape and protect the people here better!

I'm still in full support of a council. Even if we had one main leader elected, all leaders have a set of advisers. Still, the council would be the better decision, as far as I see.

I've told my opinion several times now, and I stand by it. A council needs to be created, if only to take matters into their own hands the next time chaos erupts. We can't count on disorganised groups like the Blue Rogues or Brave Vesperia to properly divide tasks and care for the entire village.

You sound like some guy from one of those Chinese hack and slash games.

But people running around all crazy is kind of dumb too.

A man I knew once said 'weaker people can band together to overcome a stronger foe.' Honestly I don't know how relevant that is, but it comes to mind for some reason.

[identity profile] themoonuplifts.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, I can't give you much because I don't know much about this stuff, but I do know we need a council or some form of government!

We also need a safe house, not the school because it's not nearly large enough to house most of the population, but like a large community center we can go to in case of emergency or something.

[identity profile] merepuppet.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
You shouldn't bother. As you can see, the majority of the population are not concerned with anything other than themselves, and nothing is going to change that.

[identity profile] holysovereign.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
This community is in need of some structure, I'll agree. Although, given the clash in views, all may not work out as planned. The smaller factions serve a purpose, although it is a shame that at least the leaders of these factions cannot come together during times of crises. If there is no viable place to turn, people will only look after themselves.

However there is a lot of promise here as well. I do not doubt that something can be worked out to bring together a more united group seeking to act in the best interests of the community.

Not to be a downer, but I think I'm getting an Animal Farm scent from this. Of course, I haven't fucking read that since.. Sophmore year but..

[identity profile] alliance-marine.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Some kind of order would be useful, yeah. At least a sheriff.

Everything was a mess during that last experiment, so I agree -- we need some kind of organization. Can't say I'm too excited about the idea of a single leader, but this council thing sounds interesting enough. We had something like that back in Terca Lumireis.

...But if the boss's in, guess I don't have a choice, do I?

[identity profile] forthezora.livejournal.com 2008-11-11 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
...In the absence of my people to look over, I suppose it is only right that I, the princess of the Zora Tribe, offer you my services in whatever form of governing you may design.

Though truth be told, I can only see uniting people of so many different tribes under one banner to be foolishness.
