∞ 39: Assessment [written]
My coat has been returned. It is no worse than it was before. Good.
Sephiroth is gone. Caesar would be frustrated, were he here.

A layered experiment, built upon over the days until it engulfs the entire village. I'm sure that residents will note that we haven't had something quite that elaborate in the past. The Malnosso were kind enough to reset buildings that were demolished or burned to the ground, as well as return those who were vampirized or killed.
Despite having a very effective form of communication linking every Filial here, we allowed the situation to devolve into an utter mess. It became a primal matter of survival, and instead of acting in groups, many acted alone -- and became victims (see Cloud Strife's entry and list).
I would like to ask everyone... Are you satisfied with how disorganized we are when faced with a crisis?
We have had protests against and calls for leadership in Luceti in the past. I am reopening the discussion in lieu of those who previously began them, since they are now missing from Luceti.
Your ideas. Your leaders. Let me hear of them. We have previously discussed a council to provide a form of structure, of government, who people can turn to. Some would rather have a single elected leader. Some have no interest in an established government at all.
To the latter, I once again direct your attention to Cloud Strife's entry. Those were only those who were bitten and turned. Think of those who were killed in the last experiment, or lost what the Malnosso will not replace.
Let me hear from you, Luceti.

I'm sure there aren't many who escaped that last experiment unscathed.

Small groups also run the course of not listening to each other. How many dedicated their time to hunting down and fighting vampires -- alone, mind you -- instead of trying to put out torched houses?

But people running around all crazy is kind of dumb too.

We also need a safe house, not the school because it's not nearly large enough to house most of the population, but like a large community center we can go to in case of emergency or something.

Even during the barrier-less experiment, I had to conduct the meeting outside of the schoolhouse because there were so many people gathered.

However there is a lot of promise here as well. I do not doubt that something can be worked out to bring together a more united group seeking to act in the best interests of the community.

I couldn't have put it any better myself. At the moment, there are only two groups of significant size, the Blue Rogues and Brave Vesperia, that bring together fighters and such. There is also the ... SOS Brigade, and another which I believe will be focused on providing support for New Feathers.
They serve purposes both specific and very broad, but without supervision or coordination, residents will fall outside of their scope. And, in the case of Brave Vesperia, some will simply not ask for their services.

How were leaders decided upon in your world, Yuri Lowell?

Though truth be told, I can only see uniting people of so many different tribes under one banner to be foolishness.
