∞ 52: Patience [action]

[Considering what's been going on with his housemates recently (that is, Raine working herself into sickness), it should come as little surprise that Albert is out of the house. Unlike most of his other outings, he is notably astride his white horse as he travels through the village.

The horse seems to want to wander off and look at the various things in the village square. Albert tries his best to be patient with his steed's curiosity, though he did have somewhere he wanted to go.]

[sitting in the square, the horse and rider take her by a little bit of surprise. She watches them pass, then takes off her glasses to rub her eyes. Feeling unwell, yes, but unsure if that's due to the weather or other things]

[Albert nods in acknowledgment as he sees Nephry, though his horse seems more interested in looking at the various stores and buildings.]

[oh, fine. She gets as little conversation here as she did at home anyway. So she gets up and walks towards the...animal...keeping a respectful distance all the same]

What are you riding?

[Sometimes he wonders just how many people had never seen a horse before. No one seemed awfully confused to see most of the other wildlife, like the birds and fish and deer... But horses? Perhaps that was why there were no horses found in the wild in Luceti.]

It's called a horse. A fairly common mount in my world, though hardly the only kind.

[a pause] Her name is Astrid.

[Just the person he'd been wanting to see... this saves him from having to track Albert down himself. He nods in greeting to the other man, his face grim.]

Albert, may I have a word with you?

[The horse stops to gauge the person that stands up as tall as itself, allowing Albert a moment to look at Regal. It doesn't take much to recognize that grim expression.]

Sir Bryant. Of course.

[Action]

[He gives the area a cursory glance before stepping closer, voice lowered.]

Perhaps somewhere more private would be best.

...Somewhere private. [His eyes narrow a little, and he dismounts before gesturing to a nearby store. The stores are usually empty now that the storekeepers aren't around anymore.]

[Oh Lloyd. Albert recognizes the voice without really looking at him.]

Uh, well, I had an errand.

[subject changeeee--] Hey, the Professor hasn't been in lately, is she okay?

[He takes note of the subject change, but doesn't comment on it.]

She came down with a cold recently; I suppose the weather is to blame for it. [In part.] She has been staying at the house for now. [With orders for a lot of bed rest.]

[So yes, Yuri was just on his way to the store to pick up a few things when he comes across Albert riding a ... thing. Whatever, it's probably just some animal from Albert's world that's used to travel around. No need to question it, doesn't look like a dangerous monster or anything.

Anyway, when he sees Albert, he gives a short wave, making sure to keep out of the way of whatever he's riding.]

[Albert tugs a bit on Astrid's bridle to draw her attention to the walking swordsman.]

[Always with the full name. Thanks for the Sodia vibe, Albert. Anyway, since he has nothing else to really talk about and it seemed as if Albert was stopping/slowing down the horse in case there was more to say, he might as well question what he didn't feel like questioning before.]

So, what is this thing? [He looks over at the horse, who probably is absolutely thrilled being called a 'thing'.]

[Oh, you're welcome, Mr. Lowell. Doesn't it feel like getting ran through over and over again? :|]

Astrid here is a horse -- an animal used as a mount in my world. Hardly the only type of mounts, though; between the dragon-horses, kangacorns, giant owls, and mantors, there are many different ways for transport there.

He does a doubletake when he sees Albert and Astrid.]

[Oh, good! Looks like the two of them are thinking alike -- though Albert's also there to look for some of that ... tea that Caesar used to give him after his abductions. He turns his head to look at the small boy.]

[Mori watches the horse and its rider before tipping his head to Albert. His face appears blank and there's tiny wooden pieces in his hands. He might not talk, but he should at least be polite since he's apparently scary enough with his blank face and tall figure.]
