∞ 64: An ominous lull in a time of caution [written/action]

[written]

Quite a few abductions in the last two or three days. Perhaps the Malnosso feel confident enough about the situation that they can continue some of their research.

We must still be cautious, though. Until we know that the intruders are no longer trying to breach the barrier, everyone should continue to carry their weapons with them. We do not know if they will try to breach the barrier again from the east, so we may not have much time to prepare if they get through again.

I thank everyone who came together in such a short time. We were able to accomplish much more under the threat of danger than we were in times of peace. [He knew it would happen, but he's hoping others will catch onto that fact.]

The eastern barricade has been completed, and there has been considerable work done on extending the barricade to the north and south of the village.

I recommend that everyone who has been physically exerting themselves the last few days to get some rest. We have basic defenses in place, and injuring or exhausting ourselves now would be foolish.

[action]

[Such a hypocrite at times. He hasn't been sleeping since his initial calls for action four days ago. Not that he feels tired; this is that kind of work he was born to do.

...

Okay, so he's threatening to doze in Astrid's stable. His horse is being nice and acting as a cushion.]

[He doesn't like that silence. >>]

Yeah. Really, I wasn't expecting so many. I'm just glad people want to help, though. This'll be easy compared to stuff I've done before.

[I think Caesar would just go jump in the lake or something, so. Good choice. 8D;]

Maybe. I'm not doing anything else anyway, so it's all right. I could practically do this in my sleep.

[Maybe next time, Albert. Maybe next time. 8D;]

Overconfident? That sounds a bit much. I wouldn't say that I'm overconfident at all.

[Well, at least that won't kill him. |D]

Yeah, yeah. You don't have to remind me, you know.

And yet, you'll do it anyway.

Well, don't you have some resting to do or something? Practice what you preach. I won't even bother you this time.

I commented because I know you too well. Of course it was necessary. Unless there are some sort of rules I'm not aware of? [There is just no winning with you, Albert! :(]

Great. I've had my fair share of annoying you today, so maybe I'll even put in that extra little bit of effort to behave. Or I'll take a nap. That sounds easier.

Neither was I. But you make it sound like I have no right to comment on something you write in these stupid journals. So now I'm starting to wonder.

I'm glad that you understand.

And? It's not like there's anything else to do around here. There's nowhere to go, and nothing to see. Besides, I think I owe it to you.

...thanks.

No? Not even for all the trouble you put me through?
