∞ 64: An ominous lull in a time of caution [written/action]
[written]
Quite a few abductions in the last two or three days. Perhaps the Malnosso feel confident enough about the situation that they can continue some of their research.
We must still be cautious, though. Until we know that the intruders are no longer trying to breach the barrier, everyone should continue to carry their weapons with them. We do not know if they will try to breach the barrier again from the east, so we may not have much time to prepare if they get through again.
I thank everyone who came together in such a short time. We were able to accomplish much more under the threat of danger than we were in times of peace. [He knew it would happen, but he's hoping others will catch onto that fact.]
The eastern barricade has been completed, and there has been considerable work done on extending the barricade to the north and south of the village.
I recommend that everyone who has been physically exerting themselves the last few days to get some rest. We have basic defenses in place, and injuring or exhausting ourselves now would be foolish.
[action]
[Such a hypocrite at times. He hasn't been sleeping since his initial calls for action four days ago. Not that he feels tired; this is that kind of work he was born to do.
...
Okay, so he's threatening to doze in Astrid's stable. His horse is being nice and acting as a cushion.]

Yeah. Really, I wasn't expecting so many. I'm just glad people want to help, though. This'll be easy compared to stuff I've done before.
[voice]
[voice]
Maybe. I'm not doing anything else anyway, so it's all right. I could practically do this in my sleep.
[voice]
You're awfully overconfident for not knowing anything about our enemies.
[voice]
Overconfident? That sounds a bit much. I wouldn't say that I'm overconfident at all.
[voice]
Good. Stay grounded and we'll be fine. [You're not so obnoxious at the moment.]
[voice]
Yeah, yeah. You don't have to remind me, you know.
[voice]
[voice]
Well, don't you have some resting to do or something? Practice what you preach. I won't even bother you this time.
[voice]
I'm sure you will find a way to attract my attention without meaning to bother me. But the sentiment is appreciated.
[voice]
Great. I've had my fair share of annoying you today, so maybe I'll even put in that extra little bit of effort to behave. Or I'll take a nap. That sounds easier.
[voice]
Whichever works, Caesar. Whichever works.
[voice]
I'm glad that you understand.
[voice]
And I am glad I did not have to relegate you to babysitting duty.
[voice]
...thanks.
