Quite a few abductions in the last two or three days. Perhaps the Malnosso feel confident enough about the situation that they can continue some of their research.

We must still be cautious, though. Until we know that the intruders are no longer trying to breach the barrier, everyone should continue to carry their weapons with them. We do not know if they will try to breach the barrier again from the east, so we may not have much time to prepare if they get through again.

I thank everyone who came together in such a short time. We were able to accomplish much more under the threat of danger than we were in times of peace. [He knew it would happen, but he's hoping others will catch onto that fact.]

The eastern barricade has been completed, and there has been considerable work done on extending the barricade to the north and south of the village.

I recommend that everyone who has been physically exerting themselves the last few days to get some rest. We have basic defenses in place, and injuring or exhausting ourselves now would be foolish.

You don't require strength for your difficulties. [She shakes her head slightly, but does give a thoughtful look at his observation.] Indeed. It's one of the few things questioned, the constant food supply. There was only one time that it was interrupted and gave us pause, but all ideas of creating a secondary supply for ourselves never came to fruition.

A secondary supply is a long-term project that would require organization in itself. Is there any particular reason you're bringing this up now? [He's already inspecting the groceries available.]

Of course it would, and I wasn't suggesting we start one up at the moment.

Ah. I see. [He'll leave it at that, inspecting a few vegetables before taking a sack and placing them in it.]

[Raine shrugs a little, and after watching him a moment starts moving along to find the bread and a few other items.]

[He makes sure to grab some potatoes and rice along the way so Raine doesn't have to carry the amazingly heavy food products. And then he's out the door, waiting for her.]

[How very gallant. Raine's outside shortly after he is, with bread, eggs, and some other assorted practical foods. She nods to him as she steps outside.]

That was relatively painless, even without there being some form of grocer there for so long.

It's something you get used to, though I suppose it simply adds to the oddness of the self-replenishing aspect.

One would expect the store to be messier. I suppose they've found a way around that, as well.

With their advanced technology, anything is possible. [He stifles a yawn as discreetly as one can.]

Mmm. [She sees that yawn, and just shakes her head a little. Lets pick up the pace a bit.] It is curious where they would have gotten such technology in the first place. How long it would have taken them to develop such things.

Considering the means of cloning exist in even my world, if only through the means of magic, I'm sure it wouldn't take much for such things to exist in other worlds through technology. Replication of food would be interesting.

But I may be approaching such things in a strange way. We just don't know what the Malnosso have had available to them, in terms of technology or information. [Just because they didn't know a lot doesn't mean the Malnosso were in the exact same situation.]

Fair enough.

[Her eyes are distant for a moment as she considers.] No, it makes sense. I was focusing on the details instead of the larger picture. That doesn't make it any less curious, however. Everyone has to start from somewhere.
