Though some of you have already said you will not participate, I am reminding you that your request has been "noted" and nothing more. It's still entirely possible the scientists will find a way to force you to go. This is said as a precaution; do not presume you will be allowed to stay, and prepare accordingly. There must be a reason they gave such a specific list instead of calling for volunteers to report in.

That said, if any of you wish to participate in planning, or feel the need to go into this battle with some ideas in mind, know that I will coordinate with you as best I can.
I expect we will have a few who will do what they wish out there alone, regardless of any tactics, but the majority will benefit from cooperative attacks.

For those who are unaware, we had previously fought against 300 individuals with a combat force of approximately 150. That battle lasted about two days, with complete elimination of the intruders. The disadvantages this time around are obvious; we will be the invading force with much smaller numbers and on unfamiliar terrain, thus leading to greater risks of fatigue and death.

So this isn't the first time it's happened. Can't say that's a surprise. The Malnosso seem to enjoy stacking impossible odds against us. Almost as if they expect us all to die.

Our deaths seem to be acceptable losses to them, as long as they do not lose possession of our bodies.

As long as the scientists can retrieve our bodies, they can revive us. Thus we can continue to be exposed to their experiments.

Somehow, I should have expected that. Bringing people back from the dead. They're the same when they return? No damage, no changes, just the same person magically returned to life?

No, there is usually a cost for their revival. Some have had the costs directly taken from their body; one person returned missing his eye, another had no feeling in an extremity. Others have lost memories -- some specific thoughts, or long gaps of time.

I see. Not sure if that makes me feel better or worse about it. Staged wars aside, is death common in Luceti? Considering it's not permanent.

I would not say it is. But we have troublesome residents who certainly have no qualms trying to maim and kill.

How awful. Is nothing ever done to stop these troublemakers?

So what has been tried, then?

Confrontation that doesn't result in death or imprisonment. [Yes, it's an intentionally broad answer. He can't very well describe what everyone has tried or had to do.]

I can't imagine that worked out too well with psychopaths bent on murdering people.

Certainly not. They haven't been incredibly successful, but they remain a frustration for villagers around here.
