As a follow-up reminder to Rydia's latest entry, this month is likely to be another New Feather cycle month if the new Organization management continues the trend. The Welcome Center is always looking for volunteers when New Feathers arrive.

While the weather may be warmer, there are still watch stations outside the village that should be maintained and well-stocked. Any volunteers are welcome. For now, I am organizing the effort, but I am looking for someone to take over that responsibility.

[There is a slight pause.] Is anyone working on the farmlands outside the village? I am curious to know what crops are being grown out there.

[Albert isn't up to anything special today. He's finally getting around to taking care of and sharpening that sword he had asked Sokka for during that reality-shifting experiment. He can be found working on the steps of his house, looking the sword this way and that as he works on it; it's more work than he usually has to put into sharpening an axe.

Afterwards, he'll make his usual rounds of tending to his garden and checking on the stables. ...Which will lead to a trip to the grocery store, because the horses need more grains.]

[She moves to follow after him once he's made his way up.] No, not all of them. It's a wonder how many little things can accumulate during the course of a year.

He glances at Raine before opening the front door, moving out of the way so she can make her way inside.]

... Indeed. [She catches the hint in that glance, then steps inside the house easily once the way is clear.] Thank you. Could you get the door to my room as well?

Of course. [He steps inside the house after her, shutting the front door before walking towards her room.] Now that the school year is over, you have more time to yourself. Have you started thinking about what you will be doing?

I kept a list of some of the possibilities to remind myself of the things I would have more time for, once the classes finished.

[She's quiet for a moment, following him toward the room.]

Learning to... deal better with my fear of water is still at the top of the list.

[He is silent at that comment, continuing on to Raine's room and opening the door before speaking.]

You had plans for some sort of swimming instruction, did you not?

Yes, that's right. [She steps inside, her gaze falling over the small tank.] ... Originally I had asked Jack to help me, but after everything happened, I realized I had to call those plans off. Taichi offered to help, instead.

Have you put any thought into where you will begin practicing? The river, one of the lakes?

He suggested the beach... but I honestly don't think that's a good idea. [The problems of leaving water instruction to a pushy thirteen year old.] The lakes are calmer, aren't they?

The lakes have less moving water, yes. But there is no quick way to the lakes in comparison to the ocean.

That's true. [A slight shake of the head.] You'd think that would have been a priority for as long as we've been here. But in any case, there's still walking and riding for that.

Walking or riding, in addition to putting yourself through the stress of learning how to swim? [He sounds a bit skeptical.]

Well, I had thought it would be more quiet there, since the beach seems to be more of a popular spot for the summer.

Choose a stretch of beach where there are no people, perhaps?

Hm. It probably would help to see it to get a better idea of what to expect.

You have not yet gone out there with Taichi?

We only talked over the idea when he was last visiting, and a lot has gone on over the last month. Between the draft, school, the experiment... I hadn't really been thinking of that.

We managed a hot springs trip. Perhaps we should have gone to the beach instead. [Just musing aloud.]

The springs were more beneficial at the time. Besides, there are still opportunities to go to the beach.

Of course. I am sure you will be able to do so at your leisure, now.

I'll have to talk to Taichi soon about those arrangements. He said something about trying to find 'water wings' for me. [Wait until she actually finds out what those are.]

...Water wings. [Well, he can probably imagine what they would be used for.]

He seemed excited about it, at least. We'll just have to see how it goes.

I trust he will go very slow with you. Do be sure to communicate your discomfort the longer you are out there.

I will. [She'll try to remember to, anyway.] He's seen me ...react before so I think I can trust him not to immediately expect miracles.
