∞ 18: Second return [voice/action] | record unhackable after the fact
[A weak groan, followed by ragged coughs. There's the scraping of shoes and clothing against gravel, followed by another ragged cough.]
I-- it can't... Still dark...
[ooc: He's baaaack.]
I-- it can't... Still dark...
[ooc: He's baaaack.]

[voice]
I won't.
[voice]
I can still feel everything. It just-- hurts. I can walk, though I probably shouldn't-- my ankle aches.
[voice]
[There's a little bird missile incoming, Al. Hope you're not too worried about your hair.]
[voice]
[And cue the owl digging into Albert's hair.]
Aaaahhhh!
[ooc: *facepalm* Great, Albert. Now Caesar's heard you scream.]
[voice]
H-hey, it's me.
[voice]
[And yet he's not moving for the bird in his hair; he's just sitting there, a hand to his forehead.]
[voice]
Just like last time, huh?
[voice]
No, not the same. I'm ... more aware this time. How... How long have I--?
[I suppose it's action now, isn't it? ^^;]
Ease down; it's just me. I won't -- I'll tell you before I do that again.
[It would almost sound like he was unconcerned, if not for the occasional catch and tremble in his voice.]
It's been a week.
Re: [I suppose it's action now, isn't it? ^^;]
I know it's just you. I just-- My body reacts. That's all.
[He shakes his head slowly, mindful of his headache and the little owl on his head.]
A week... It doesn't seem right. It doesn't feel that long.
[action]
I'm sure it's only temporary. There have been others who have lost their vision during the abduction, as you know ... but they've all recovered completely.
[He sighs, shifting his weight from one knee to another.] Memory lapse?
[action]
[He grasps the journal he barely found in the clearing, his expression vague.] I think so. I lost track of time. I could sense day or night.
[action]
[Another relatively stricken expression that he's glad Albert can't see.] We can figure that out later. For now, we should probably get you home.
[action]
Yes... Help me up. I hurt my foot when I ran into a rock.
Sheena... She-- she was still on the trail.
[action]
[He stands, instinctively dusting off his knees before crouching beside Albert.] All right. Why don't we give it a minute. If it's bad, I don't want to hurt you any more than necessary with inadequate support.
[action]
Damn it, I hate this feeling.
[action]
[action]
[It's probably not obvious with his coat and scarf on (and not to mention in the forest's darkness), but he's sweating as he struggles to his feet once more.]
If I trip, don't try to catch me.
[action]
Can I at least warn you about obstacles?
[action]
Now lead the way.
[action]
Looks like she finally found us.
[action]
[Looking at Albert, then at Caesar with a questioning expression]
[action]
[He doesn't look surprised; more like weary.]
[action]
Have you got anything in that magic arsenal of yours for pain?
