The rain isn't letting up. Hasn't been letting up. The river is overflowing.

Echoing what's already been said, people by the river should leave their houses lest they wake up knee-deep in water. Or worse -- especially if the storm continues.

The ceaseless thunder and lightning do not help matters. I've yet to hear about fires or lightning damage ... but that's a possibility, too.
